Grateful for some advice. Where would you host your Aperture library?

I'm not convinced that hosting on a NAS is a great idea but like the idea of having one Aperture library rather than one on each device. I see Photostream but not sure if that is the best answer as (I think) it relies on the master library being available.

As an aside, do you put your iTunes library on the NAS or do you duplicate it on each device?

Thanks in anticipation.

not sure if aperture is similar to Lightroom but for that i hold the catalogue locally and the RAW on the nas.

itunes again local catalogue then media on the nas. i dont think it likes sharing the library database files so would be best to have it on one then enable home sharing. you could have it on each machine but would be a pain when adding new content.

Thanks Neil. I think that was the place I was going to - but didn't really want to! I wanted to use just the one library and review the results from anywhere. After a quick trial, I accept that is not going to happen. I'll import into the first device and backup to the NAS and recover a copy from the NAS if I need to.

Grateful for your advice.
