hello all , when i plug my camera into the computer a box pops up saying no camera detected . any help would be greatly appreciated . cheers jim

Do you *have* to see it as a camera? could you just import images as though it were an external drive, either from the image manipulation software or through the computer's file manager? As an alternative you could try an SD card reader in a USB dongle, which costs £3-£4 from Amazon.

Try turning the camera off and back on whilst it is connected to the PC. If the pc has a card slot, remove the card from the camera and insert into the slot.

Use your editing software to browse for and open the files, when the camera is connected.

It's just a memory card it should be seeing especially if you use a card reader.
Does the computer recognise other flash memory?
Maybe there is a problem with that particular card in the camera.
Try a different card (worth having at least two anyway)
You should format the card from the camera menu before use.
I prefer to format rather than delete almost every time I've downloaded the contents.

Also, don't allow the computer to delete any files/images from your card, always do it in camera.

Same problem I came across was I was trying to put photos on a windows XP home edition from a 64gig Sandisk SD card from my Nikon D800. Because it is an "old" window 32 bit program( or computer) it wouldn't accept the photos. As soon as I did the same on another computer with windows 7 and 64 bit no problem it accepted the 64 gig card with no problem and the camera..

Maybe you are doing the same?
