I just built a Core i5 system (haswell quadcore) with 8 gig of RAM, 128 Gb SSD, 2 TB HDD for the princely sum of £425 including a decent efficient power supply and Windows 7 license.

If you can find another £100 you will get yourself somehing much more sensible.

That PC will run photoshop CC & lightroom without any problems but as arad85 it is an old pc with out of date components.
The seller is asking way too much e.g. to update that extremely old graphics card you would have to also replace the no-name PSU.

As already said it is out of date with some components you simply do not need in an editing machine, such as the sound card.

Also it is Sata2 and USB2 both of which will severely limit transfer speeds etc.

A minimum these days would be Sata3, USB3, 250GB SSD for the OS and some extra space and at least 1TB Sata3 HDD (or an external USB3 HDD) plus a UEFI BIOS to enable AHCI for the SSD for maximum speed.

If only used for editing then there is no need either for a sound card or graphics card.

And the built in card reader is overkill as you can easily get a USB3 card reader for a few pounds.

And how many people need firewire just for editing photos?

Thanks for the input guys. I guess I'll keep on looking.
