Hi everyone

I submitted a photo of my husband in February's monthly competition (photo 99 - you'll have to scroll down the page a bit on the link below)http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=47298&page=4

I do all of my processing on my computer at home but when I came to post my votes for the February competition using my computer at work I noticed that the photo that I had posted had a really red tinge to it, but it doesn't on the computer at home. The colours on the computer at home were natural skin tones, not the horrible one I'm seeing now!

I need to know what the rest of you are seeing to find out which computer has the problem.

I would appreciate it if you would view the photo and post back what you actually see.

Thanks for your time everyone

I see a very orangey / red man.

Thats on a properly calibrated monitor.

hes got an orange tinge on my uncalibrated monitor

I get very orangey fella here too ... :suspect: ... and that's on my brand spanking MB Air ...

Sort your calibration ... :D

:p

Tango man on my uncalibrated work monitor.

Aye, he's been Tangoed - big style.

Looks like hes been tango'd to me

The image looks to orange to be the result of a non calibrated monitor. I suspect something else has gone wrong. What type of computer are you using and what software.

I've had a quick look at the attributes and it's in sRGB colour space which should be OK.

What do the other images in the competition look like on your computer?

Thanks guys (and ladies)

The other photos in the competition look okay to me colour wise (that's on my work computer). So the problem must lie with my home computer - which is brand new.

Don't they come properly calibrated when you buy them new?

You're right I'll have to calibrate it I think.

Thanks for taking the time to look everyone.

I agree he looks like he's trying to emulate David Dickinson on my calibrated monitor.

Monitors vary alot even new ones. Even, the combination of Computer and Monitor can make a difference. Personally I'd go and buy a basic screen calibration kit such as Spyder Express or Pantone Huey. Both IIRC are under £100 IMO one of the best investments you'll make for your photography.
