I want to compress my photos taken from last yea so they can fit on one of my old hdd but its only 60GB and the total GB of photos (RAW) taken last year was 136GB, would i be able to compress these enough to make them fit on here? I probibly won't edit them again so would it be worth either converting them all to Jpegs or try to compress them with winrar on Store mode?

Oh an jpgs won't compress very well if you convert, as the files are already compressed

I meant instead of compressing I export them in lightroom as jpegs from Raw files, would it be worth keeping the Raw files it what im asking really as if they were all Jpegs I would have thought they would be less than 60Gb from 135Gb as raw's

If you exported them all as jpegs then it is likely that you would get down to the 60gb. Although a 160gb external drive isn't expensive from ebay and would hold all the photos you have on it.

Either way why struggle for space when storage is pretty cheap.

Personally I'd never delete RAW it's be like burning your negatives.

Don't lose your RAWs. You'll regret it one day. Hard drives are cheap.

Last time I had money to spare I bought camera stuff, I didn't really think of this tbh :/
