Complete newbie

Hey!!...

Just got myself a Nikon D40 with the standard kit lenses as i was really interested in photography, so now all I can say is I hope i'm any good and i'm sure you'll be more then willing to help to point me in the right direction, thanks!!

Now try using auto only when you have to - you will learn much quicker with aperture priority and manual.

I'll second that. I don't think I've used the auto setting on my camera more than twice since joining here, and I'm a complete noooob.
