I've just bought a D5300, searched and found this thread, I'm now bookmarking it as a place where we can compare notes/experiences/images/stuff.

I guess a D5300 is closely related to the D5200

I didn't know what to call mine ... dee five thousand three hundred? dee five three double oh? then went to Jessops to try on some lenses and the man with the Nikon badge referred to her as a dee fifty three hundred. And it stuck. What do you call yours?
