Hi All,

My names Laura and this is the first photography forum I have joined, ive always loved taking pictures and im hoping to purchase a new "proper" camera soon!

Im really hoping to get lots of advice on what camera's people would recommend , any courses that people would recommend and any useful hints and tips would be gratefully recieved too! :)

I am thinking that once I have gained some experience that maybe I could earn an income from doing some informal shoots on part time basis :)

please me gentle with me as it is all new!

looking forward to making new friends and seeing all your wonderful pictures!

Hi Laura, welcome to Talk Photography :)

As for recommending cameras, you'll get a lot of different opinions from people about which make is best, but in the end it's up to you. I think it's good if you can get to a store where you can actually view and hold some different cameras to see which you like the best after doing a bit of research.
 
Hi Laura! I am in exactly the same boat as you at the moment! I have been loaned a Canon EOS D400 for a while, but I am keen to get some kit of my own now!!

Hi Laura and welcome to TP.

Take a deep breath and for what camera etc, just ask away in the Talk equipment part of the forum. Set a budget and you will get lots of advice. We've all been a beginner at some point

Its a very complicated world is Photography, depending on what genre you decide to be involved in, I do most but wildlife is my fave ;)

As for choice of Camera / Lenses/ Lighting its all about what suits you and is subjective, involving budget etc etc....

I use Sony Equipment and I love it ( other Camera makes are available :lol:)

I guess I will just have to take my time, learn as much as I can and just enjoy it :)

Ive been looking at all the amazing pictures and genres on here , and I literally cannot wait to have a good camera and get out there :)
