CompactFlash (CF) Memory Card - 4GB = £16.99

I am a self-confessed memory snob and only trust the big brands but that is a seriously cheap price. Please review once received hypnotic.

Kingston is a huge brand. They did most if not all the RDRAM sticks for the first P4's. I even used their overclockers memory in my previous PC.

These dont look like Kingston.....they say Viking on them.

They SAY "fast" in the blurb....but do they have a speed mentioned on them at all?

This is what the Kingston cards look like: here

Still, a good price for more memory.........and like you say.........you can never have enough memory.... was that what you said? I cant remember!!:D

Blimey that is cheap!

You can edit the thread title yourself btw (advanced edit?)

I think I might go for those, whatever speed. I never shoot on continuous anyway... great price!

Had Viking memory from here B4 and never had issues with them. Still got some but they are only 256k which is not enough is it? :)

...Oh I dunno....... you could get a couple of RAW's on them!! ;) :D

I have a Sandisk Ultra II 1Gb card, a 2Gb Dane-Elec and an unbranded Viking 1Gb card.

I cannot tell the difference in speed in any of them!! I use a 20 and even in high speed mode there's hardly any difference.

I might buy one of these.

Small print says actual brand may vary but I'm gonna order one anyway, can't really argue at that price.

Got 2x 2gb ones of these & there are plenty fast enough for my D200
Great spot & one duly ordered ... Paul

Thanks for the heads up. order sent

Just ordered 2 at that price, It would be rude not to..

Thanks for the heads up hypnotic..:)

They are out of stock....
Will have to wait for mine :(

Got mine too, mine are Dane-Elec rather than Viking which isn't a problem as I've used Dane-Elec memory in the past. Just tried them in the camera, OK they are not quick I get 4-5 RAW's in a burst before the 350D has to wait for them to download from the buffer to the card, but I knew they would be slow. Other than that they look good to me, I've formatted them several times and tested them in a 350D, 20D & 5D and seemed to work with no problems.

The specification of the 350D states a maximum of 2.8fps and 14jpegs or 4 RAW files so your card seems fine.

the faster cards are more suited to the 1d MkIIN with it's 8.5fps burst.

Got mine this morning, Dane-Elec also. When I plugged it in the the PC it came up as Toshiba4g09 and a google turned up lots of stuff on german sites but I didn't see anything about the specs. Still I don't often use burst but being able to shoot 1000+ frames in jpeg will be useful for race work so I'm happy :)

Mine came this morning also Dane-Elec (comes up Toshiba 4g00 on computer)
a quick test show it to be slightly slower than my sandisk Ultra 2, but nothing to complain about at the price. I will get out this afternoon and see how it performs.

I have the danElec 2gb card and it seems fine. Think I paid £23 for it a few months back :(

Works just fine

I was just going to buy one of these but can't find any info of max card size for my 300D :(

Anybody got any idea ??

I got one and it works on my 300D in RAW I get 641 shots.

Found this out on another forum and i recieved a DanElec. Tried it in a canon 20D and 30D and happy with the performance since its a bargain at £17.99 Tempted to order another one :)

Already ordered 2 of these and just added another 4Gb and a portable USB card reader..:geek:

mine came today  bargain ..

have you got a card reader Allan? Try a format on the PC and then put it back in the camera.

I'm waiting for two of these to come this week :o

whatever it'll do yeah, I think it might only let you do a FAT32 format on it anyway.

Just ordered a couple of these.. I already have the 1gig version of the one they're showing and that works just fine for me.

Popped a 1gig SD card for the Wii in the basket for less than a fiver as well.

Bargain! :woot:

Paul
