compact for gigs

Its coming up to are lasses birthday and she wants a compact, i know there all very much of a muchness, but she did have a really good fuji one ages ago that broke and we replaced it with another fuji different model that was really poor.

She wants to be able to take it to gigs, the one she has at the moment just takes blured ones in this situation.
I know that compacts arnt the best for this sort of thing but i cant get my SLR in.

So what should i be looking for to get the best for this situation, looking to spend around 150 or if theres something better higher up please recomed them to. or even what kinda spec i should be looking for.

I had a powershot G7 that i used to take to loads of gigs, it was a great camera albeit a little bulky.

But it performed excellent in low light, and takes excellent video too. you'd probably pick up a decent 2nd hand one up for £150ish, i sold mine a couple of months back on here for £155.
