Just wondering if someone could help clear this up for me. I believe the Canon EOS 400D can take Compact Flash I or II, I take it this means the size (ie. 3.3mm and 5mm thick respectively) and not the speed? I've been under the impression that I could only buy Exteme II CF until I just saw an ad in the forum for an EOS 400D including an Extreme III card.

Cheers

Yeah the 400D takes the ExtremeIII no problems. It what I use.

Aw man, I just got an Exteme II thinking it was the fastest I could get. Damn this inferno learning curve! :bonk:

Ok ok, don't rub it in, I'm still learning!!! ;)

Also there isn't a "fastest you can get" with regards to each camera. All CF cards will work at all the lower speeds, but you can obviously buy cards with different maximum speeds. You could drop an ExtremeIV into the camera and it would still work fine.

Ah, you mean like USB1.1 and 2.0? As in backward compatability type thing - it will always operate but just at the maximum speed determined by the hardware?
