Compact flash cards ?

Hi, Can you please explain the difference between the different types of Compact flash cards , i find it rather confusing with all the different types there are. :shrug: I seem the remember hearing that 1 of them works faster , is this right , if so which one and why ? Thanks . :)

And if your doing HD video with a dslr you might need the fastest cards. Personally I like the 60mb/s cards for stills but I do shoot continuous on occasion at 8 fps.
 
Also don't forget it will also be quicker to get your photographs off of a faster card as well, which if your as impatient as me can be a blessing. If your on a budget its usually a case of prioritising speed or size, or you can just aim for somewhere slightly in the middle.
 
You don't need a fast card for video, mine copes fine with 15Mb cards, it is for continious still shooting and transfer speeds that it matters.

I'm not sure if this is true in Nikon World, but in Canon World card speed has no impact on burst speed whatsoever.

It all seemed very confusing , i am rather novice as you may have gathered. ;)
