Having just transferred from a canon 40d to a nikon d300 and having 4 compact flash cards
I took around 40 shots on one card and loaded on computer and the file numbers were numbers 1 to 40
now I changed the card and do not now if in inadvertly inserted a different card a taking a shot before formatting this where the problem has arisen the file numbers are reading approx 3872 on which was around about the number taken on the canon
I found the card which I took the orginal 40 shots checkingon board the d300 they read was you would think 1 to 40 then take a new shot and it reads up around 3900
its has if the camera has read the card and taken the file numbering from that
so if you look at the image numbers now it reads around 3800 high for what the camera has taken
it should read around 160 now not 3960
anyone else had this happen
