compact flash adaptors

Just replaced my canon 10d with the 7d obviously I have quite a few compact cards lying around but all are quite small (love my 10 d but anything over 4gb and it used to throw a wobbler).
Some of the other gear I use makes use of sd 8, 16, 32 the question I have is has anyone used one of those CF adaptor thingies to use in the likes of a 7d or other CF Camera ?

Yes but they're horribly, horribly slow, if you just want to do landscape then they'd probably be ok, but then if you're not shooting reams of frames you're unlikely to need the extra space

Thanks fitzer will give them a wide birth then, just picked up a 8gb from currys for £29 that will do me for now.
