Compact Flash adapters. Do they work?

Hi all,

I have just pulled the trigger on a Canon 7D and now need to find a bit of Compact Flash memory to use with it.

I have a couple of low value (1gb) CF cards, but I came across these adapters, as seen here:

My question is, has anyone used one and if so, were they reliable etc.

Obviously they aren't expensive, but the Canon is an experiment and I don't want to waste money buying things that don't work.

Any opinions welcome.
 
Seriously, with the price of used CF cards either on here or via MPB - get a proper one.
 
Or maybe even a new one. I'd avoid ebay supplied ones but other suppliers are available!
