Ok.. say you were going to buy a CF card on ebay, I know some of you wouldn't dare.. but just say... and you needed a good 1gb card as fast as possible, as cost effective as possible...

What would you get?
 
I agree with the brand recommendation, I have a good sandisk extreme I bought a while back, a kingston and a fuji 40x.

Problem is on ebay there are fakes. Feel free to link to items you'd buy if you were in the market. Guess this could include other online places.
 
CHEERS dude. Just upped my options to 2gb, need one more card for now. Sandisk 2gb Ultra II is 17.99 plus delivery on mymemory, however that link you gave me seems to beat it... further inspection is needed! 16.89 delivered!

No worries JoeT! I should´ve put that in the first place but didn´t think my s2 pro would take 2gb for some reason, it doesn´t take higher than 2gb though.
 
ebay is getting confusing on this one.. a lot of reports of fakes especially sandisk fakes.. im thinking some prices are too good to be true and may miss a bargain, better safe than sorry i think.

I'm a big fan of MX2 too for film and when another card is needed. I think I paid about £80 for my 2gb i-Pro 40x about 15 months ago or so - it's now £15.99. Hmmm....
 
MX2 are well priced - Extreme 3 cf 16gb for £145!
 
Just ordered the SanDisk Ultra II CompactFlash 2GB from play.com but via a playtrade seller so it's costing 14.95 delivered brand new. May take a week at least but hopefully all good!

Mind you one of my 1gb cards is an ultra II and takes ages to write on my s2pro... dammit, im never satisfied when it comes to speed. Evidently as im still using a s2 pro

I used to use a 4 gig card in my S2.
You have to format it in a certain way to get the use of the full card.

thats pretty interesting, is that just with certain cards? is it tricky?
