Hi guys,

I would like to upgrade my compact camera. It has to be a compact because its a family camera, and my partner uses it a lot.

We have been used to a Sony HX5, which we like the 10x Zoom, and also the GPS is handy, so when we look back at pictures, we can say it was there at such a time.

So, what compact camera would you advise for around £200 ? It's not a strict budget

Many thanks

I would go for the panasonic TZ30. Great zoom and GPS.

Yes, but you will get it cheaper than that. The TZ30 has been replaced by TZ40 but will be more expensive.

For all the difference it makes with the above (i.e. theres nothing in it really) why not stick with Brand and get the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX20V. The spec is as close as near as damn it to the lumix and its familiarity will be nice.

Funny you should mention that,

When I bought the Sony, it was between the HX5 and the TZ10

In all honesty, I would want to buy new.

Any more I should consider?

What about any of the new Samsungs?

I'm looking to buy this weekend so would appreciate any more help.
