I currently only do 20 miles round trip and on average 30-40 minutes through back lanes of bristol traffic

How many miles do you commute, anyone do 100 miles round trip a day everyday?

18 each way, takes about 25 minutes on a normal day

I currently do a 16 mile round trip which takes about 20 minutes each way. It's great.

I used to do a round trip of 135 miles a day which would take anywhere from 1hr15mins to 2 hours each way. It was a bloody nightmare and very expensive. Luckily I only had to do it for 9 months.

I also worked in Bournmouth for 5 months a few years ago. I was picked up in Preston at 5am on a Monday morning to get to Manchester airport for 6am. I'd get on a 7m flight to Southampton, pick up a hire car and drive half an hour to Christchurch and get in the office before 9am. I'd then work 12 hour days before flying home on a Friday afternoon for the weekend then do it all again the following week. That was one hell of a commute.

About 78 miles a day from Prestwich to Bootle and back. Takes about an hour to get in (25 minutes to do the first 5 miles, 35 minutes to do the remaining 34 thanks to the lovely M60) and about 50 minutes to get home.

Currently sticking about 23K miles a year on the little Fiat Panda!! It does run on LPG though, 90 mpg equivelant!! :D

anyone travel from Bristol across M4 say to Swindon or M5 upto Tewksbury?

3 miles there and back. If I'm in at 8am then it takes about 10 mins with traffic, if I'm in at 6am then around 5 mins.

From Canvey in Essex to Rickmansworth (and back) around the top end of the M25 - 126 mile round trip which on some days takes aroun 1 1/2 hours each way, and on others has taken nearly 3. Fortunately, only have to do it 2 or 3 days a week.

About 16 mikes, approx 20 mins each way traffic depending.

Abernethy (near Perth) to Dundee. 25 miles each way although it's only 25mins and I enjoy the time in the car to 'come to' and 'wind down'. If I fancy I come back along the lanes bordering the Tay which is nice for photography.

I'm often in Aberdeen, Inverness, Glasgow and Edinburgh which can be a drag but not being my normal commute - I can claim my 40p a mile so it pays OK.

That said - I also work from home which is nice

.

50 mile round trip at the moment - 45-50 mins each way. Probably about once every two weeks I have a 120 mile round trip. I don't look forward to those.

In my last job I did about 130 miles each day and as most of it was on the M25 it meant a 4.45am start - I'm rather pleased I don't do that anymore. :D

Been known to do 200 mile round trip, prob averages about 130 just now real pain in the a**,but i'm lucky enough to have company transport and get paid traveling time both ways :D.Luckily the road i travel isn't too busy when i'm on it ,i really don't envy you guys down south ,i noticed hacker said he used to commute on the M25 ,been on it once ,never again far too scary .

I commute in my slippers :D But when I do venture out it is not unusual to do 250-250 miles in a day. This is about once a week with some shorter journeys once or twice a week.

2 floors down, it use to be 2 steps...them were the days!

I sit at home awaiting a phone call in the mornings then drive anywhere from 2min, too 2-3hrs from home to a job site. But i get paid from 7am regardless of when i get called.

i am a service engineer and on average do anything between 35-42k miles a year, so are good days and are only a short journey like 75miles a day round trip.

lol

M25 is so lame i tend not to use it...

pretty much a 100 mile trip every day, a little less wed-fri so its prettymuch 450-460miles a week

i dont find it too bad but ive only been doing it for 6weeks so far! its having to get up 2.5hrs before work thats killing me

A couple of miles, five minutes to and from work base, but then I'm a mobile engineer so 500-1000 miles a week.

My commute to the office is around 3 metres, equidistant from the bedroom and the kitchen.

However I drive around 40,000 miles a year for work visiting customers. A huge improvement on the 60,000 I used to do.

30 paces each way - my office/studio is a little building next to my house. :)

My commute is about 6-7 miles. via public transport its about 20mins. Via car, its 10-15mins :D

20 miles each way. Usually not too bad, but sometimes I get really, really bored or annoyed sitting behind three tractors and a lorry. It doesn't half make a difference when the schools are on holiday!

I do 23 miles each way from J27 M1 to Derby down the A38. It takes me an hour and ten minutes coming home on day shift in the evening traffic and about 25 minutes coming home on night shift in the early morning.

5 metres from my bedroom to my office  I used to do 36 miles a day which took me at least an hour each way in the rush hour, oh how I miss those days...not!

Used to be 65 miles each way for me.

That can make any job seem like its not worth it and in the end it did.

I'd probably say that 1 hour in typical traffic is the most I'd want to do just to get to my office... its obviously different if its a customer site visit, because at least they are paying my fuel then!
