Coming to United Kingdom.

Hi pcp!

You'll find loads of exciting things to photograph in London - even if you don't have lots of sunny weather, the city's lighting makes for some atmospheric night shots :).

Don't worry about "fitting in" either ;). London's very multicultural and attracts a lot of tourists with cameras (stereotypically, Japanese ones :D), too.

My only words of cautious advice would be that it's not the Police or any Community Support Officers that you have to watch out for - it's the people who they're trying to protect us all from :(! Certain parts of London (like any major city around the world) can be prone to high levels of street crime and so you may want to think carefully about (visibly) carrying around expensive camera equipment, especially after dark :|.

Also, before anyone here turns on me for the fact that I (now) live in Germany :shake:, I should say that I spent the first 35 years of my life in and around London (and just north of), so I do speak from experience ;).

P.S. "Hot Milk" is not usually available in pubs, but some of them serve Cappuccino with so little actual coffee in, that it could easily pass as such :D!

;)

Sometime we can possibly meet in Talk photography meet ;)

Central London isn't too bad as long as you stay in the busier well lit areas. Personally I have wandered around the more suspect parts of South London and never had any problems myself, although I have seen a few shop windows get smashed, and a few fights. Wayne

You know our sense of humour already pcp! :)

You will be just fine in London, it's like any big city in the world, you need to take a few very basic precautions and you will be OK. The weather, I can do little to reassure you on, it's blooming freezing here today 2deg and I nearly went on my backside twice this morning on the ice!

So wrap up warm and come on over :)

should go to liverpool... much safer :D

Nah the whole place has been HDR'd :D

:welcome: pcp  Hope to meet up on a TP outing when you're here
