now i like that but sad at same timeGave our local Comet a look as driving past. As has been said no discounts to shout about. The funny thing was they had a banner hanging up saying
" now recruiting ask in store or visit www.comet.co.uk" lol
Comets always advertised they have no sales, just always low prices?
...Or was that bad marketing?
Their biggest mistake apparently was not having a good on-line strategey.
Hope they get saved by someone, my thoughts are with those who may be on the dole sometime soon.

It says that customer orders will be fulfilled "wherever possible",
The story is that they may be bought by Currys or Maplin or both, in part or as a whole.
No sale at the moment.

I'd be surprised.
Not Maplin's market (albeit additional competition would be welcome) whilst you generaslly see a Currys / PCWorld in the same locations as Comet.

Where did you read that?
That's not happening in a month of Sunday's.

You know that?
Have to say I read it originally as they would buy the entire business.
Dixons spend their life price matching against the web....literally every day they check their prices against the web competition.
There's plenty of competition.
Can't see how: 'The story is that they may be bought by Currys or Maplin or both, in part or as a whole.'
Can't see where they match or better the web, I get better prices on the web than any of the DSG stores, and they won't price match websites such as Amazon, Hughes Direct, etc. on electricals. On computing, why not go in to a DSG store and ask them to price match ebuyer.
Sale starts Thursday
How do you know? Has this been publicly announced or is it just hear say?

Devil is always in the detail with things like that.
