Comet McNaught is easily visible low in the Western sky just before sunset for the next few days. It will soon be out of sight before it gets dark enough so make a point of looking out for it, I think it should make a good subject for 'le photographe' :)

Ohhh a comet. Sadly SW England has sunk under the weight of retained water and there is still no end in sight...

Nice tip Steep although unless it clears the weather over the mountains will block our view.

BTW The Burning of the Clavie is on Thursday night at Burghead. Planning taking the kids.

still heavy clouds over cambridge now. Will try to look for it this evening! Just before sunset......... 4pm?

Hurray!! I can see it! I can see it! :woot: :D :D

But I don't have my camera with me! :'( :'( :'(

got a clear sky but no comet??

it's pretty low.

:woot: I saw it today on my drive home from work. Unfortunately I only had my film camera with B&W film in it and my 28-80 lens, so it wasn't even worth stopping for a pic :(
Thanks for the info though

It was reported very clear on our local news tonight..:)

As I missed it today I will be watching for it tomorrow evening.

You can also see it in the morning before sunrise.

I was out for nearly an hour in the cold this evening and I couldn't see diddly squat! not fair! :'(
I was looking in the right place, West to West-sou-west, saw nothing.

It is quite low down in the sky so you had to be in a field or some where a bit higher. I saw it at about 4:50pm when I suddenly remembered and looked out my office window and there it was!

Well I have the morning off tomorrow so i was thinking about taking a trip up to Cromer, cant get much more of a clear horizon than the sea! HOWEVER... there's a flaw in my plan..... the bleedin MetOffice have issued a severe weather warning for the entire country!! :bang:

I dont think it will be that severe in Norwich tbh.Scotland at the moment is getting battered.West coast has just recorded windspeed of 94 mph.

Well I might get lucky then! I'll set the alarm for 6, then see what the weather is like, if its poo, then I get a lie in!

yep, saw it today at work, but no camera..
