It was a great quali for Lewis with Massa 5th, but i would rather Massa win the title than Lewis, sorry but i'm not a fan of Lewis

when massa can actually go round the track and take the same line through a corner as everyone else i might be more impressed...hes only at ferrari as hes married to one of the uppers daughter(actually to correct myself, hes managed by Todts son)...hes been lucky this year and turned in a couple of good races, but hes not consistant and not as good as the car hes driving.

great result today for Lewis, hope he can do the same tomorrow

Massa cant win it surely, would be ruined IMO for him to be a so world champion when he cant drive in the rain, 6 spins at silverstone wasnt it? and dim in Monzo where lewis took 6 or 7 places compared to his none lol

I am sure lewis will do well :) he got his team mate at 3rd so hopefully he can help out ;)

Unless Massa Team mate try and crash lewis he better bloody not do..

What a knob!!

:bang::bang::bang::nono::nono::nono::bang::bang:

Correct a big UTTERY KNOB.....

Look like a repeat from last year on the way

I cannot believe he even attempted that!!

It's not the mark of a "true" champion and despite me wanting him to win it, the bigger part of me says he isn't ready for it yet.

:thinking::thinking::thinking::thinking::thinking:

Yet again Massa uses the outside of the track and gets away with it. I know he got his drive through for the incident with Lewis, but what about that overtaking manouvre at the end of the race, all four wheels over the white line yet they allow him to keep it. MB picked up on it. Stewards with their heads buried up Ferraris backsides yet again.

Yup your correct god knows why they doing this... It just plain stupid and can make the game more nasty...

I no idea who going to do it now in the next 2 races

Sebastien Bourdais has been handed a 25-second penalty for his clash with Felipe Massa in the Japanese Grand Prix.

The ruling drops the Frenchman from sixth to 10th in the final classification and promotes Felipe Massa from eighth to seventh.

As a result the Brazilian shaves another point off Lewis Hamilton’s world championship lead, trimming it to five points with two races remaining.

Bourdais tangled with Massa on lap 51, when he emerged from his second pit stop at the same time as the Ferrari driver turned in to the first corner.

The Toro Rosso took the inside line and the two cars touched at the apex, knocking Massa into a spin.

As well as doubling Massa's points haul, the penalty ironically benefits Bourdais' stable-mates Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull Racing's Mark Webber, who move up to sixth and eighth respectively.

WTF????????????????????????

Lewis admitted he made a mistake, why can Massa get away with that? then to give Bourdais a penalty for being on a driving line is an absoulute farce, F1 is turning into a circus IMO

talk of Jean Todt going the FIA to, that wont make things Biased will it lol

When will you all realise that the ONLY rule that the FIA sticks with is "Ferrari must win the championship"

Bit of Animal Farm to me

"All teams are equal, except one team is more equal than others"

This is why I don't enjoy F1 any more. Admittedly Hamilton has brought some new dynamics to the competition, but he'll never be allowed to be as successful as Schumacher unless he drives for the team in red.

Steve

very very true Steve

just seems so sad everyone outside of the FIA (Even Kimi or Massa Fans) that Lewis should have a bigger leads (Spa and today) but it just goes to show the FIA will do anything for Ferrari

Correct I am too getting fed up with it now F1 is really going out of the window cos FIA are siding the Red all the time... It just plain stupid... Instead of massa gaining another point he should of had that point taken off him...

God know what going to happen in the next 2 race... Just really hope lewis can be careful next week...

Wonder how far lewis would of got today if Massa did not of spun him??? Makes you think doesnt it

to be fair though, Hamilton messed up his own race by stuffing his tyres at the first corner - the penalties just made the everything a whole lot worse. But this with Bourdais getting a penalty? I'd love to know exactly what for, as all I saw was him come out of the pits, get to race speed and arrive at the corner at the same time as Massa. Massa was on the outside, Bourdais on the inside. Now according to all the drivers who commented on Hamiltons Spa penalty, its the driver on the inside line that has right of way through the corner, unless seemingly the car on the outside is painted red........

I've followed F1 for many more years than I care to remember, in fact, I don't remember ever not seeing the races, but the stewards decisions this year are making me wonder if I'm gonna carry on watching.....

The FIA plumb new depths with the decision against Bourdais.

I just hope that as more drivers, teams & sponsors fall foul of such obvious Ferrari bias, there will be an outcry to put them back in their place.

Surely Gerhard Berger isn't going to stay quiet about this even if he does use Ferrari engines.

I feel very sorry for Torro Rosso who don't get many points scoring opportunities, did nothing wrong, but lose their result just to help Massa!

thats made me wonder alot since hearing about the penalty, He (Bourdais) was on the racing line, how can you get penalised for that.

i think bikes are more fun now and i am starting to stray away from F1 due to the poor decisions made by the FIA, its such a shame that everything done now seems to be off track as appose to on

the one bonus i know Lewis has over Massa though is he has an engine change for next weekend and he can use his "free" engine change for Brazil so he will have fresh power in both races where as Massa will have to use an old engine for one of the races as he used his joker change a few weeks back

F1 is getting every bit as corrupt as horse racing! I really can't beleive the blatant bias and favouratism towards Ferrari:(

hamilton was rash and deserved what he got out of the race, but massa was a total tool, and got gifted a point. absolute shocker of a decision, im rapidly going off the sport!

Horrific decisions once again by the FIA Stewards, they should be barred from being stewards again.

Bourdais was at no fault whatsoever he was inside on racing line and massa came from behind and turned in on him and lost out as a result of being wrong, but nooooo the stewards can't see a Ferrari go hard done by and screw Bourdais over.

Hamilton should never have got a penalty for the first corner incident, he got no advantage and we have seen the type of thing happen hundreds of times oiver the years at first corners and no penalties, until its a championship decider and harms Ferrari

F1 rapidly is going downhill, not because of the racing but because of the crappy stewards decisions and the meddling FIA keep messing with the decisions and rules

reaction from Bourdais

"It's totally dirty. That's about it, dirty. Piquet hampers me in the straight and nobody ain't say anything. And me, I do nothing to Massa, whom tries something crazy on me, and there you go, I get penalised. This has gone too far, that's too much. The FIA is a great puppeteer that commands everything. Now, I'll know that when Massa arrives behind me, I have to let him past. You have to fade out for some opponents.

Of course, there's still my performance of this weekend. But anyways, the people only remember the results and I lose my 3 points. This is a sh**ty season, I tell you. I'm completely fed up with this."

not suprised hes fed up!

wow hes upset, and rightly so. Ive watched it back on youtube and bourdais even has a wheel on the kerb before massa mugs him..yet over on the itv forums some folk are saying that bourdais went left into him!

ITV forums? :O

we gave up on that place years ago - have never ever seen a forum run so badly before or since!

i was looking for incar footage

lol at some of these comments if Massa's move on Hamilton was just, then so was every one handed out. Or there was double standards being handed out, i watched 1st corner many times after sky+ it, he clearly run himself and the Ferrari's and even his own team mate, after flatting his tyres. Even the comentators after the race re-run package agree is was out of order.

Massa up the inside is fair, the pitlane exit is actually part of the race track (well is in every other form of racing), the line is to prevent the drivers leaving the pits crossing to the outside of the track.

Personally the only driver's on the grid that really deserves the title this year Kubica, or Alonso!

Yup. Sums the situation up nicely. And that's before the Ecclestone dwarf gets his way and dumbs F1 down further with standardised, 6 race engines a la Formula Ford, formula vee, renault and every other manufacturer class of junior racing. Whatever happened to cutting edge technology? Why not make 'em run with Series Land Rover chassis?

Still, there is a bright side: coverage is going back to BBC so it'll soon be goodbye to boring, uninformative commentary. Hopefully. But then I'm one of the old farts who remembers Ronnie Peterson, Colin Chapman, Emerson Fittipaldi, Graham Hill and who pretty well lost all previous (obsessive) interest before refuelling had to be re-introduced in an attempt to put some spectator interest back into F1.

I've just read that Charlie Whiting briefed the drivers, in Singapore & again in Fuji, that the driver leaving the pits has right of way! Poor Bourdais!!

After the Spa incident, it seems once again the FIA's ulterior motives have over ruled their own race director!

As a McLaren fan I really hope they can take both championships despite Mosely's interference, but I'm getting fed up with Hamilton's rash driving which is putting that at risk & giving the FIA excuses to penalise them.

Hamilton needs to accept that he has to be whiter than white!

I do agree.. Lewis seem to be doing a repeat of last year trying to do too much in the last few races and making a mess... What he did from start was not needed if he of stayed behind the Red car am sure he would of able to overtake later in the race. Instead he did what he did

so looking at that video, it was HEIKKI who ran raikkenon off the road at turn 1!!

That is what I thought at the time, seems to show it even more from that angle. Hamilton sets him out wide, but Heikki takes him off roading.

FIA Does not want lewis to win there the answer... Honestly that race he could of done it I think or at least got about 4 or so points...

Sorry mate disagree, yes there have been some awful decisions, but Hamilton needs to calm down, grow up and start to drive like a champion. KR is nowhere near him in the championship, so why race wheel to wheel with him when KR has naught too lose?

He needs to play the % game or lose again.

No fan of either team, but would love it, REALLY LOVE IT......KK voice.........if niether McLaren nor Ferarri won it, it would be justice.

Yeah Kubica has got consistency on his side, if the front 2 stuff up again, and he gets a good haul of points, its all change, he could win the title having only won 1 race in the season and his career, didn't Rosberg only win 1 race in 1982 and won the champ.
