Hi everyone. I posted on here a few weeks ago and me mentioned I had an interview for college to do photography. A few of you told me to let you no how I got on.
Well today I went to college, worried I wouldn't get in. I sat there for 10 mins and was called in. Shower the woman my photos and she was very pleased. I asked have I got in and she said YES!!

Large G&T seems to be the order of the day - well done:naughty:

One problem. I don't drink. A large glass of Lemo lol x

Well done. Work hard.. make use of every second at Uni while you have access to support, expertise, equipment and studio spaces. Once you graduate.. you're on your own, so spend time at Uni making contact with industry.. network and speak to people... if you have visiting lecturers, speak to them, get info from them. Don't waste the opportunity :)

Enjoy it.

Congratulations Ruth, hope it goes well for you, enjoy the course.

Thank you. Wise words from you all which I am going to take on board when I start college.
I am so excited and happy to be doing something for myself for once. Xxxx

Well done Ruth. What level will you be studying at? (College covers everything from GCSE to degrees!)

Which is what? GCSE? A level? Foundation degree?

Thanks for the clarification.

Sorry for my confusion but my wife works in education at a college that offers everything from GCSEs to foundation degrees (as well as some evening classes for beginners) and assumes that the jargon is common knowledge! She also has a habit of assuming that when she tells me about a student or a teacher, I know she's talking about a college one rather than one of her Yogin(i) types... Face to face, it's generally easier to know which a person is but when she refers to Jane Doe as "One of the students", it's harder to tell!

Honestly, I don't drink. People class me as a cheap date. :-/ not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing lol.
Thank you xx

Well done! Can I ask where it's at? Is it two years? Is a foundation like post A levels pre degree?

I expect so. Foundation Degree is a sandwich between A Levels and Hons Degree.

In some cases, Foundation Degree is equivalent to 1st year of Hons Degree.

Well done Ruth, ask, ask and ask some more. Make the best of what you have ;)

In some cases, Foundation Degree is equivalent to 1st year of Hons Degree.

Does that mean its sometimes possible to do a BTEC foundation then just 2 years missing the first of a degree?

I'm asking because I'm hoping to study as well this year. HND at Glasgow hopefully... Interview there in a week!

HND 2nd year is equivalent to 1st year degree or Foundation degree in some cases.

Try and ask if you can start 2nd year degree after completing your HND, otherwise you might feel you are repeating another year

Depending on the content an HND gives you direct entry into 2nd year and in some cases 3rd ( Scottish 4 year degrees)

I am doing a year.

It takes between 9month to a year to complete. Just got to wait till September now.
Thanks for all the good luck messages x
