College idea help!

OK, I really need some help. For a project we have to come up with a design for each of these words: HOPE, BALANCE and NOISE. It can be in drawing, type or photo form. We keep getting told to 'think outside the box' but apparently Im well and truly stuck in there. I've thought of a couple of ideas but there not that good. For 'Hope' I thought of a flower blooming out of rubble, for 'Noise' my baby cousin when he starts screaming, and for 'Balance' a photo of my old kitchen scales with 3D 'Good' and 'Bad' on either side....but as I said their not that good. Can anyone help think of some better ideas? Thanks for any help.


(P.S. - Any ideas really have to be something I can actually do. I was thinking of a tightrope walker but apart from being obvious, I could actually take the photo.)
 
Not sure if this is along the right lines but I would try to have a running theme throughout:

HOPE - Somebody trying to empty a money box
BALANCE - A bank statement showing a bank balance (possibly in the red)
NOISE - Somebody on the phone, looking as if they're shouting down the phone (speaking to call center person about their overdraft)

As I say, could be way off the mark... just a quick thought.
 
Personally, if I had to do a separate design for 3 words, I'd try to think of a common theme that tied all 3 images together while keeping each one on theme.

If you want to think outside of the box, why not make "a box" the recurring element in each of the 3?

My thoughts would be :

Hope : Pandora's Box - an open cardboard box with a single flower of something in it to signify hope.
Balance : An old fashioned set of scales - a black box and a white box balanced on each side.
Noise : A quick search on google for noise and box brings up images of sirens / alarms . . . there may be something there that you could use.

Just a few thoughts :shrug:
 
Get a girl to balance on something and say her name is hope, then take it at a really high ISO for noise :p

I would try and get one image that shows everything as mentioned above.

Noise = small ball bearings on a turned on speaker?
 
Beaten to by Harvey, but I too was thinking high ISO shot of playground with a seesaw or a bird on a stick or telegraph wire (balance) with a DOF'd church (Hope) in the background...
Hope and Noise could be an ambulance or police car with sirens - if you're lucky enough to catch one passing by!
Noise and loosely Hope could also be a march or a protest in the street or even a picket line perhaps? Two people pulling a Christmas cracker in half?
I'm just brainstorming :thinking:
