Yes
What a pain the hi lite pop up background is. Me and my hubby spent an hour trying to do it last nite. It nearly had a knife to it. We found a video on utube showing how to do it but for some reason we still couldn't do it.

On the video though it involves lifting the whole thing and me being a small female I just don't have the strength.

Mine is the larger of the hilites.

Does any one have any tips that involve folding it on the floor.

It is difficult to explain I am never really sure how I do it, a push and a twist as I remember. Although I am usually suprised when it just seems to fold together.

Just keep practicing, eventually you will do it and then wonder what the problem was:)

Took a hell of a lot of pushing and shoving. Anyway gonna take it to my parents house let everyone have a go surely one of them will be able to figure it out.

the figure of eight is the solution. aim to make the large circle into three smaller circles.

Hehe, I had exactly the same problem when I got my collapsible background.

All I'd say is try to fold the item in half... and by NOT twisting it (doing that that will place the backdrop into a figure of 8 which is only 2 hoops... you need 3)... and you then see 3 hoops getting formed. Once you see the 3 hoops, keep forcing them to the centre and it will all fall into place!

Difficult to explain... perhaps the you tube vid will be better...

Have a look at http://www.markcleghorn.com/photokit4u/backgrounds

Makes it look easy!

Like you I'm small and female and it's a sod to get folded down, I've shoved it in the back of a 4x4 before now and dragged it into the house where we've all ahd a go at attacking it. I nearly bent the frame once in frustration. EdBray got caught in the family jewels by one!

Put the knife down and think about how much it cost!

Hi Ali B have you got the knack of it now though.

I have looked at that video and still can't do it. Becasuse I can't lift it, it will have to be folded on the floor. But if you fold it the wrong way the poles or whatever it is inside all around the edges seem to flip over. And then I have had to try and un flip them back the other way. Hard to describe, hope this makes sense.

No!

I'm utterly useless at it. They should not sell this to anyone under 6'2" who does not have arms like a gorilla!

It takes the whole family to get the thing surrounded and generally beaten into submission! Grrr!

I have the 6x7 and can fold it in about 10 secs. once you get the hang of it, it is pretty easy.

THere is another forum thread (at POTN) and the poster there (Mario) describes how he folds his by locking the Hiite into his sofa (can also be the skirting board)

Just be careful you don't catapult yourself out the window with it! :)

Knowing how clumsey I am I probably will. Either that or I will end up curled up inside it....

No worries ;

I use my own way. Longest edge across my body. Pull right hand corner over to the left and then the left corner over to the right and the HiLite just falls into itself.

Takes some getting used to though

Perhaps this is one that should be demo'd at the TP Conference later in the year... :):)

These look interesting. Ignoring the packing problems what do you think of the actual item?

Fabulous.

Quick hikey setup in seconds. Take down in seconds too (once you get used to it).

Can be lit by one light (better more even light with two)

Once you've mastered the art of collapsible backgrounds, have some kids and buy a pop up tent for the beach, then try putting it down in a summer breeze on a crowded beach without anyone laughing :)
