Hi there guys. Straight to the problem.
For example I have two pictures, one of them is vertical and another is horizontal. I want to fit them in 900px width frame, maybe you know any software which can do it nice and automatic?
I tried to use photoshop but its the waist of time and quality, cause you have to move and resize those pictures and frame height as well to match them perfectly.

try picasa.. free download and has a built in collage maker.

If you have Photoshop, use it as it's the best tool for doing what you want. Of course you have to resize to fit the pic in the 900 px frame, but if you do this with the wrong tools you have bad quality result.

You can do what you want in a few mouse clicks...here is the way to go:

1- Create the canvas: File/New and fill the form.

2- Open the first picture with Place command: File/Place. The pic has this big X on it: press Shift and use the anchors to resize proportionnal, then doubleclic on pic.

3- Open the second pic and do the same steps. Here you are now.

You can select any pic and move it freely in the canvas (pics can overlap for some effect if you wish)

The Place command is the secret here: it opens the pic on a smart layer, so the is no quality loss when the pic is resized. You can resize each picture many times without quality loss, you can also rotate the pictures in the canvas. You can even apply any filter on these pics and have smart filters (non destructive). You can also fill the canvas with any color, use the gradient tool for effect, etc

And you can also save the collage as psd and have a reusable template (select a picture layer and go to Layer/Smart Objects/Replace Contents)

So that's why Photoshop is the best ....
