weekly Colin 52 challenge

Hi Ya

almost missed you as no linky in the pic only thread :crying:

On theme , goo detail , possibly crop the rhs to lose the cupboard & stuff on it , make it a bit more minimal & maybe even turn to mono ?

& you're right...a week goes by in a flash.......

Hi Colin

had problems finding your thread as the couldn't get the link from the pic only thread to work :banghead:

Liking the colors & as an abstract it works well but finding it difficult to see a point of focus ?

Interesting Colin, abstracts aren't always for me but this seems to work well (y)

It took me a while to find your thread, the link isn't working from the 'no comments' thread and you've titled this thread 'Colin 52 Challenge'. If you put parhole4 in brackets next to your name it'll certainly make it easier for us ( well me :D) to find you :)

View attachment 5314 When I saw this weeks theme was smoke I wasn't looking forward to it, but once I got satrted I loved doing and had a few nice pics I could have posted but in the end went for this one

Well done Colin, looks good (y) I like the fact you've left the incense stick in, I think it gives something to lead from :)

Hi Colin, sorry I've not made it here before now. I like the bubbles, I think the colours add more interest by showing different textures in the bubbles. I like the diagonal on the smoke, nice contrast with the green against the black. I think I would have cropped out the actual incense stick.

cool colurs in bubbles, really stand out, and smoke working well too, having the stick in the corner works well, giving the starting point for the smoke plume, as well as seeing the gradual fade out through the frame....

Tiny bit of clean up in the top right corner would finsih it off nicely

Nice colour and the diagonal adds interest.

Well composed, inclusion of the stick works well as does the green.

Looks a little OOF, but it's a good go.

Cheers.

Well done, not my thing but it sound difficult to do (y)
Hi Judi, really not my thing either but looked at youtube videos how to do it, and I had a great Sunday afternoon doing this theme

Love the colour of the smoke and the inclusion of the incense stick - but have to say I'm a bit meh about smoke pictures now

Hi Colin

not crit from me ( I couldn't manage smoke for love nor money) love the color & the inclusion of the incence stick
Thank you, this was completely new to me but loved doing it and best of all I feel I learned from doing this theme

Lines - Really like this shot, simple but well on theme.
Play - I like the thought behind the image but I struggle with the edges of the board being clipped. (I might just have OCD lol)
Close - I understand what you are try to portray but it could so easily be of open also.
Bubbles - Plenty of them and I love the colours.
Smoke - I really like this, the green works against the black, nice one.

Look forward to seeing more from yourself.

John

I like the fact you've laid one bracelet over the other and the reflections help as well. There's a few highlights that can be easily sorted in pp. On the other hand I quite like the main central one especially as there's the start of a starburst effect with it.

Nice composition and reflections, good to see a non-dusty base. (y)

Regards the highlight, I like it and think it adds some zing to the shot, (it can be cloned out, but the image is worse for it IMO), it's just the position of it for me. Was this using a built-in, on-camera flash by any chance?

Off camera flash but I took a lot of pics from different angles so cannot be sure were the flash was positioned, like you I like most of the highlights (there is one I should have removed)...and thanks for your comments

Good take on the theme Colin, reflection, little star bursts, add to it very well (y) possibly not as tight cropped, but that's just my thought :)

Like this one, particularly the reflection and the limited colour range. Is the focus a bit off or is it my eyes again?

Pretty blingy stuff will always get my vote - do like the central starburst although it is a bit bright, but I'd have lost the one down on the right. Nice composition and reflections.
