I use a great pair of Musto Windstopper shooting gloves ...
MUSTOs
Not cheap but they are wind and showerproof and have flaps for the thumbs and two fingers so you can still operate the camera and stuff ...... they are superb ...
... AND they're Green ...
HTH ...

which i use for shooting outside when it freezing.
Sealskinz lightweight sports gloves - amazing. Waterproof, merino wool outer layer, rubberised grips. Anything from £25-£35 depending on where you buy.
Sealskins all the way. 100% waterproof, warm enough, thin enough to operate the camera and very grippy rubber bits on the palms and fingers.
