Ive just been chatting to Warehouse Express about a back order for some Cokin Filters and they have told me that Cokin who are based in France apparently have gone out of business!! All deliveries have been suspended, I cant afford Hi-Tech or Lee at the moment so will have to wait and see what develops.

AP says different in November, but things may have changed.

I personally don't like Cokins, they are built to a price which leads to quality issues e.g. the grey grads which they market like NDs give a magenta colour cast. For fun occasional use they are OK but I certainly wouldn't recomend a big investment in them and never for images that you might want to sell.

Thank you for that Simon, to be honest with you, Im only starting on the long road to using filters and stuff so the cheap ones are fine for me at the moment, I wont be doing anything to up market at this stage to be honest with you.

I would save up for some Lee ones if i were you. If not, the bay is another choice

Great just got a cokin ring and holder for christmas i was going to get some filters:=(

I will add my two penneth in that I use the Cokin Z Pro range and do not see a magenta colour cast. I often wonder if the so called cast has now become apocryphal and simply exists in peoples minds. Also if you shoot in raw you should be able to remove any cast that you may get unless it's truely horrendous. Can't comment on the other ranges but it's reasonable to expect that they are of similar manufacture and properties. Buy one and try it, you never know.
