As some of you know, I can go months without seeing my camera and even longer without actually using it.

However, today will be marked in history :D

I not only opened my minitrekker and picked up the camera, but I also emptied the bag and re arranged the dividers so it could snuggle my newly arrived 400L f5.6 :)

while I was doing this I thought it prudent to clean the other lenses and bits and bobs that share the space with the new paperweight.....oops lens.

Upon opening the little Cokin filter box that originally housed a single filter but now held 3 I noticed that they are scuffed to **** and now fit for nothing other than the bin.

Moral of the tale.......Don't put more than one Cokin Filter in the little plastic box that they came in to try and save space.

:amstupid: Mmm guilty :whistling: I have got a slip of paper between mine though

i didn't think mine were actually moving inside the box as it was quiet when you shook it.

obviously and expensively wrong :(

Aye, but I'm not so sure the glass Lee filters would have scratched against each other as easily as the plastic Cokins have.

They were....ND's and a grad

Lee have a nice wee white bag in which you can fit 3 filters and it doubles as a lens/filter cleaner, cheap as well.Wish you guys would get good stuff and not the Cokin stuff:cuckoo::cuckoo:

I don't even have that, the scuffs are so bad in the center that they are opaque :(

Are you sure they are that bad. can we see a pic.

Oh dear. I keep all of mine seperating in their own boxes but hell does it take up a lot of room!

I've dont exactly that and binned all my Cokin filters becuse of it (kept 6 filters in 2 or 3 cases).

EDIT: I've now only got 2 hi-tech ND grads that I never use as I prefer to shoot bracketed shots and do my ND grad-ing in Photoshop ;)

The hi-tech ones come in nice handy plastic sleeves too. Those, and my couple of Cokins, and the Kood Circ Pol, along with the adaptor rings and filter holder all fit neatly into one of those little Tamrac filter cases.

I keep two filters in a box separated by paper.

My issue with the Cokins is more the adaptor rings. I now have both a 72mm and 77mm adaptors absolutely jammed on to the protection filters of my lenses and is really frustrating not being able to get them off.

Why bother taking them off? I leave my adaptor rings on all the time, and so they are immediately ready for the filter holder to be clipped on. And Lee have a white plastic lens cover which clips over the mounting ring, and so the only time you might need to take them off is if you are fitting on a lens hood, which IMHO is really not required that often anyway, and if it is I just clip on the lee bellows lens hood. A bit expensive initially, but great in practice.
