Where do the coffee drinkers get their beans from?

Not many shops sell it where i live, there again I've just recently started using the beans so maybe looking in the wrong shops. I imagine buying beans online would save a few quid and also there would be a better choice.

Favorite blends at the moment are Brazilian and Columbian, what yours. :-)

I don't drink coffee it's makes me do strange things :|

I drink a heck of a lot of coffee and order from garraways online. Usually get a couple of kilos of their arabica at a time. Lasts me about 3 weeks.

I'm very lucky in that we have an old fashioned coffee shop in the town, one of those where there are all sorts of grinder/percolators on rickety shelves and all the beans are sold loose by weight. You can also smell the beans roasting from the other end of the high street on certain days.

Dammit, off to fire up the grinder!

Edit: Forgot to add, Columbian is my bean of choice

Adore the smell of coffee beans, and the taste mmmmmmm

Off for a fix ;)

Anything that gives me a hit Sean :D A deli or permanent indoor market might be a good place to go. I used to have a distant relation that had a Coffee place in Bath http://www.lovecoffee.co.uk/about-carwardines.php And just like Fabs, you could smell the roasting Coffee from a mile away, I just used to stand over the iron grid on the pavement where the steam and smoke would rise from, georgeous

I don't know where they get them from either - someone asked me if we sell them (the first time I've ever been asked that!) so presumably someone's local spar somewhere does...

Has to be Blue Mountain ... just no substitute, but not for the feint of wallet

Yes, I spotted that earlier. Given that the coffee beans in my local shop are around £4 for 250g, how good would the the Blue Mountain have to be to justify paying 9 times that?

You have to taste the coffee to experience the difference, it really is good - there's fizzy plonk and there's vintage champagne

Monmouth Coffee is excellent.

You can't buy it online but you can ring up and order it over the phone and they will post it to you. We luckily have a shop near us that sells it.

The Espresso blend might be right up your street mxfun as you said you like Brazilian and Colombian

MONMOUTH ESPRESSO

Toasted almonds with smooth body and balanced fruity acidity

We currently use Fazenda do Sertão (Brasil) as the base of the espresso, adding Café Vereda Palestina (Colombia) for high notes and complexity and Finca Las Nubes (Guatemala) for cocoa notes.

They do myriad other blends too.

Has Bean are my go to.

They have some beautiful coffees that change through the seasons. Also had some lovely stuff through Extract Roasters, one of my favourites is Lusty Glaze from Hands On Roasters, Union do some nice beans...the list is long for the coffee geek.

As for the saving a few quid that depends. You won't get cheaper beans, but you will more than likely get much better beans and a much better cup of coffee using one of those mentioned above.
