love this game. PS3 owners, as soon as ive got this game, someone should set up a clan, DF needs to learn to shoot straight

Its not bill gate its the game company thats doing the reset as the only people that are meant to be online with it at the moment are reviewers and a lucky few. The achivements are meant to stay as they are connected to your acounnt.

Foodpoison, i had similar to yourself yesterday, but today was much better. Maybe with more folk online, the choice of hosts is then better?

I feel myself running about a lot more in a sort of kamikazi style way. :D

It seems like Makro is the cheapest at £20 unless anyone else has found it cheaper ??????

He's asked for this for a Christmas present, but I predict daily nagging about wanting to play it as soon as I've bought it . . . really can't see it staying in the box until Christmas Day.
 
Can't get this anywhere :( All the cash and carry places are sold out too! Amazing. 3million units being shipped to the UK to meet demand. That's impressive. Looks like a sure shot for a record breaker. First game to get a West End premier too.
 
its easily the best game i have played, and the online play has soooo much depth to it!

i devoted about 23 days of my life to cod4 last time and can see a similar amount of time being invested in this game lol :cuckoo:
 
I've just picked up my copy (pre-ordered and had it sent to Uni), no time to play tonight, but tomorrow is goin to be VERY unproductive :D
 
Played for about 5 hours non-stop today. The only reason being that I wanted to play hardcore only, and for some reason you have to get to level 19 to unlock it, what a load of crap. It was fun though, although I don't intend to play 'normal mode' again.
 
Got it the other day but not allowed to play it until my birthday in 4 days time. So MEAN!! :bang: :razz:
 
Had a quick blast last night. That level where you chase the guy through the Brazilian slum is intense (and I'm only playing it on regular level).

I won't be. Infinity Ward has butchered the MP and I am not really interested in theSP aspect of it.
I'll stick with CoD4.
L4D2 is out in a week anyway :cool:

No clan servers. You cannot choose which server you join based on loacation/ping. Most of the testers were unable to ping below 100, which in a fps game is ridiculous. Some will be IW hosted but most will be P2P :bang:

They're using VAC, which is arguably worse than Evenbalances Punkbuster.

No console. You cannot create custom configs nor can you mod the server.
This has essentially killed the competitive CoD scene dead in it's tracks.

No Kick functionality. If there is a hacker on the game you cannot vote to kick him, nor can an admin ban him from the server (as there are no server admins).
 
they've knackered multiplayer for the pc which sucks

and it's 35 in sainsburys rather than 26 which also sucks...reminds me why i pretty much gave up gaming on the pc because frankly few developers care about it anymore
 
I got it on release day from Amazon, (pre ordered it the day before)

AN i think its awesome, just away to play a bit more of it just now. :p

doesnt seem to be a great difference between the 2 consoles graphically, aside form slightly more refined shadow detail in ps3 version, but online its a different story...if your xpoxpleasefixme lasts past the initial load up, and microsoft dont ban you from the live network for having a naughty console, then you can talk to your 'mates' online (which is a good thing) in much the same way as you can on ps3, but the servers are all overloaded on Live and PSN so we are all buggered anyway
 
I found it laggy on Tuesday but last night was fine.
Enjoying SP and multi player, I have not looked at spec ops yet as I have heard it can spoil bits of the single player so I want to finish that first.

Great game and one I shall be on for many months to come, along with Forza:cool:
 
Sorry to go against the grain here, but the 1 player game is way too short!! I've finished it on medium in 2 days, which given how crap I am at FPS's is a bit rubbish. I didn't really do much of the online stuff on COD4, but the 1 player experience was much better.

Also, the graphics don't look as polished as they could be, certainly on the 360 version. Great, there's little slowdown, but some of the baddies look like they've walked straight out of GoldenEye on the N64!!

6/10 for me! :(
 
i completed the single player in a day on regular, but then the online play is the thing that will make me play this for many months to come.
 
I've only put in about 30 mins on campaign. Ranked up to 21 in about 3.5 hours on-line though.

I just can't focus on the campaign when I can see my mates ranking up and learning the maps, ready to hand me my ass when I decide to join them. :coat:
 
I really enjoyed the campaign, I agree it was a bit short. But, COD is definitely more about the online play, which IMO is excellent. I've experienced lag once since I started playing it, in a room full of Americans so therefore on an American server. :D
 
Yeah I completed the campaign on regular in 4h47m, bit rubbish really, but the favela level was absolutely BRUTAL, and with the enemy intel to collect I reckon if I ever get bored of multiplayer I could put hours into the campaign.

Spec ops, on the other hand, is amazing.
Really reminds me of terrorist hunt on Rainbow Six, except a lot more fleshed out (unfortunately you can't choose your weapon load-out :()
Can see me and a few mates really getting our teeth into the spec-ops campaign until it's all complete, then go back to pick up the stars.

Multiplayer is very very deep, but at the moment I've maxed out 2 assault rifles and a submachine gun and I'm already at level 30. With only level 70 and tonnes more guns to update, I can see myself getting into prestige before even maxing out one genre of weapons. Levelling up is way too quick and they're way too generous on the points giving.
 
@candlestick - the single player is longer, you just need to run though it again on Veteran! 2 evenings and regular is complete and 6 levels of Veteran. + there is the Special ops which will keep me busy for awhile (I got fed up of multiplayer from COD4 hardly did it on WaW, i'll give MW2 a go but wont hold my breath)

*Edit* plus I dont like the NUKE for 25 kill streak which ends the game, thats a REAL bad thing IMO.
