As someone based in the UK, .co.uk is the obvious choice for my website, but is there a benefit to be had in terms of seo?
My web address is www.photographerinessex.com, at the time .co.uk was taken, however it had not and has never since been used to host a website.
I have just found that the renewal date for the .co.uk version has been and gone and the account now suspended. Looking uop the name of the person that took had bought it last operate from facebook only nder a completely different name. So reading between the line they may have originally wanted to build a website, and for whatever reason that didn't happen, so I imagine it is now unlikely to be renewed by them and may soon become available again.
If it does, I will buy it regardless and redirect to my .com address so that I have both covered. But is there an advantage to moving my website over to .co.uk and redirecting .com to that?
As an added complication, the name that my business goes by is actually the unoriginal forenamesurname-photography.co.uk, with that pointing to my photographerinessex.com address. Not sure f that would have any bearing.
