I have been asked to supply some images in CYMK TIFF and really don't have a clue what I'm doing.

I shoot in RAW and then convert to jpeg. Can I convert from jpeg to CMYK TIFF by just saving as that format, or do I have to do some kind of conversion? I know that CMYK is a print format, but it does look strange on my screen.

Can anyone advise? I use Paintshop Pro but can lay my hands on Photoshop if I really have to (don't like it).

Maybe I should have posted this in a different section (print or basics)?

All I really need to know is - can I just take my jpeg and do a "Save as" selecting tif and then select the tif option "CMYK"? Or, do I have to go through some kind of conversion process to make it CMYK?

I know that on screen I am looking at it using RGB but it worries me to see the converted image with the colours all wrong after I have saved it.

Can anyone explain it to me?

Many thanks,

Jenny

If they are for a commercial printer they normally prefer to do their own CYMK conversions, ask the printer or end producer how they want them supplied.

I work in a printers, in Photoshop just go into image, mode and select CMYK, then save as Tiff.
