Evening all,

I have Tamron Ld Di 70-300 lens, the cheap one. It's developed a few of issues of late. The first is that it clunks when auto focusing, almost all pictures are OOF or soft, and today it started showing an error message concerning the lens contacts.

My questions are this. 1, is it worth repairing. Or 2, is the canon 55-250 a better lens and probably just getting this would be best.

Any advice or suggestions will be most appreciated.

Probably the 1st thing to try is clean all the contacts to see if the err message stops.

I would say try cleaning the contacts and if it does not work and you really like the lens you might be able to buy the same for £50-60 used or just go straight for the Canon 55-250

Thanks for replying. I've checked my receipt from 18 months ago and apparently I purchased an extended warranty with it. So it's going to be repaired or replaced. Happy days!
