Hi,
I have been considering this for some time now, I have around 300gb to upload and that will take quite a while on ASDL. I still backup on external HDD. I have read through a few threads and seen a few good comments but has anyone use My PC Backup? I have seen very mixed reviews and it seems to be very difficult to find genuine reviews, any recommendations/costs please?
 
Do you want storage or backup?

I backup to CrashPlan. You're right, it will take a long time (try and use a public internet connection for the bulk of it - I use my uni's). Is there any reason why you want to stick it up in the cloud rather than use another hard drive?
 
Thought about setting up NAS (ie your own cloud) as your main storage and then the external as your offsite back up?

For sizes like 300gb, paying a host will soon overtake the initial start up costs of your own system.
 
Amazon Glacier costs 1 cent per GB per month, so 300Gb is $3 a month.
 
I use Glacier, very good value. Backup to NAS -> External -> Glacier, all automated.
 
That is fine with me, that is my third backup, so only needed if I lose my 2 normal copies.
 
I use Carbonite . Instantaneous backup of new/updated files performed in the background. About £85 for 3 years for unlimited backups.
 
I use creative cloud storage. I really like it as I can just drop files into my finder window on my mac and it will be stored on the website as well.
