Morning All,

I'm looking for your recommendations on cloud backup solutions.

Requirements:
1) Encrypted backups. I don't want anyone else to have access to my encrypted data, so that means I choose the key and there's no way to reset it if it's forgotten
2) Linux friendly - ideally I want to drive this with a cron job and use rsync over ssh
3) I'm not interested in any guff (e.g. phone synchronisation apps) and I don't want to be bombarded with marketing for extra services

Your recommendations please.
Thank you
:)

I have had very good - flawless really - experience of Crashplan. They offer 128 or 448 bit encryption and there is a Linux version although my experience is with the Mac version and I have no clue whether the Linux version will work as a cron job and use rsync over ssh as I haven't the foggiest what that means :).

I use crashplan too and it just works. Apart from the initial upload which took months due to the amount of files I had I haven't had a single problem with it.

Had a look at http://www.duplicati.com/ a while back

I'm mainly a widows user so now just used to using bitlocker to portable drive and leave it at work. I rotate 2 portable drives around.

I use Hubic but from a windows platform.
Very good product and web access to all your stuff remotely.

Also if you can upload remotely and the local agent will replicate the files back to your local folder structure.
