I recently took some pics at a "closed event" which according to them only theyre official photographer is allowed to post pics online as to sell discs to the members who were there. However the event was an open gate no paid entry, I asked to go onto trackside which they checked my pli then allowed me on. I signed. Nothing to say I couldn't post online infact I signed nothing at all
There was no signs! My argument is also if that's the case then spectators can't be allowed to take pics either then?

Anyone had similar or able to give advice?

Hi Jamie,

I don't think this is prticularly unusual and I have attended sports events with similar restrictions, although (fortunately) as one of the official photographers.

A couple of questions:
1. How did you discover that you weren't allowed to publish/sell your images?
2. In your post you say "I signed" and then "...I signed nothing at all". Which is it?

I'm guessing there was nothing to prevent anyone (spectators and photographers alike) from taking pictures - just publishing/selling them on-line. No problem there with personal use on your computer or in print.

what advice are you looking for? you where granted trackside access and told the terms.. whats the problem? if you didnt like the terms then you should have told them..

Agree with Kipax, you were told the conditions, you agreed, what's the issue?
