I am having a problem with my Canon 24-70 f2.8 lens hood. I could not understand why it would not lock onto the lens, on closer inspection there appears to be a small clip that has been lost from the end that fits to the lens. Anyone any idea where I might get one of these from.

As far as I know, the Canon lens hood should have the circular molding clip built in to it and the lens has the opposite circular clip as part of its' molding too. I don't think there are any separate clips required? Has your lens hood been dropped and part of the plastic snapped off?
 
I’d assume the fix is a new hood.
If you don’t want to cough for a Canon one, there’s cheaper copies
 
I believe a new Canon lens hood will set you back around £50 or so, so go with Phil's advice. Ive got a 3rd part one on my 24-70 f/2.8 mkii and its as good as the real thing as far as i can see. I thought i had lost my Canon one, only for it to turn up after i got the 3rd party one. I dont think ive used the Canon one since.

No its is a small straight clip which fits into the moulding of the hood.

Thanks but I have ordered a non OEM one from ebay seller.
