Yes
Have been movie recording on Nikon D750 using continual autofocus AF- C and the continual clicking of the autofocus adjustment has been clearly recorded. Need ambient sound so is there any way round this. Moving subject so need this camera setting

Shouldnt really be using it with AF for video, its slow and noisy, with moving subjects its pretty much useless. Use MF with appropriate aperture and live view.

You can certainly use an external directional mic and move it further away from the camera. I would also think you could run some noise reduction in post (something like audacity, record a clip of the AF running in a quiet environment and use that to remove from the master recording).

Thanks guys. At least you recognise the problem. I was recording marching brass bands at Manchester, using my 750 for the first time. Used AF-S in ignorance but AF-C had occurred to me from stills photography. I could see in live view out of focus stuff but didn't really know what to do. Tweaked manual override sometimes.
Must admit I feel a little disappointed. Don't really want hassle with PP.
Now beginning to think I'd be better off with a dedicated camcorder and keep the D750 for stills and unexpected movies.
Used it again this morning on AF-C this morning on a train and I felt the continual focus adjusted in a jerky manner, again with that damn clicking. Operator error some will say but not so sure.
If I go into MF will I not have to continually adjust the focus in live view?
Problem is not as apparent for subjects moving left to right and vice versa, presumably as change in distance to camera is minimal.
Thanks

Yes, that is the best way to shoot video and also the only way to shoot without the associated jerkiness/noise of the AF.

Cheers
Steve
