I use this: http://www.opanda.com/en/iexif/index.html
It's free to download, then you simply open it on your pc, select a photo to open within it and, among a whole host of exif info, It'll tell you which number photo it is from your camera.

For example, I've just loaded the latest shot from my D3200 and here is the relevant part of the Exif ; Total Number of Shutter Releases for Camera = 7674

my d700 has around 40000 which is pretty low some pro's have 100,000s

So this pic is 6355??
Am I looking at right bit lolView attachment 45605

Total number of shutter releases is stated much further down. On my one, I scrolled down and it's about seven off the bottom of the list. My actual file number, having used many memory cards is 1159 whilst the total shutter count is 7674

go to this website no programme to download just upload your latest pic and wait mine took about 30 secs and the file i uploaded was 70mb lol

camerashuttercount.com?? i tried it already but it wont read from my camera :(

Here's the bottom part of my Opanda readout for the image I have been referring to

Did mine recently on a 40D . Download eosinfo. Quick and easy to use. My 40D had 55k actuations.

You could try Jeffrey's Exif viewer http://regex.info/exif.cgi

Click on 'browse' to select a pic and then click on 'View Image from File'
Takes a minute to do and then just look for shutter count.

Email me the photo and Ill look.

you can't read direct from your camera you need the photo on your hard drive download the pic to your computer make sure you know where you have put it then try again or read your inbox;)

Is this from the original file or from an edited one?
I'm totally baffled as to why your shutter count isn't showing - I'm sorry to say - but do get less info displayed on images that I have worked on in Photoshop.
i literally took a quick photo just to do the count, so unedited

EOSinfo is designed for Canon, and I have just checked (450d included).
I hope you get a result, whichever way you decide to go.
