Now I have a few decent negs I thought I would get a couple printed to see the difference between scanned and printed and printed straight from the neg. Trouble is the negs are a bit dusty and a couple have fingerprints (clumsy of me I know) and I was wondering whether ther is a way of cleaning them before printing.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Thanks Nick, just ordered some.

I just wipe mine with an Ilford anti-static cloth.

I use Isopropyl alcohol, it's the main constituent of negative cleaner and it's dirt cheap at £4-5 a litre on the interwebs

This is what I use. It's what Kodak recommend for cleaning general to modern photographic films and papers that use silver halide emulsions in gelatin to form a silver or dye image.

You need to ensure that it has a purity of 98 percent or higher.
