Cleaning Camera

If it appears on your pictures then it's on the sensor. On the other hand if you're just looking into the camera body with the lens off then it's probably on the mirror. The only other thing I can think of is the focus screen (you can see it through ther viewfinder, but it doesn't appear in the pictures.)

In all cases as the first step get a rocket blower and give it a good blast from that. You may find this link interesting on sensor cleaning LINK.

cheers

Possibly on the mirror? I had a black spec on mine which drove me mental, cos I couldn't see the ruddy thing. I used a swab for cleaning the sensor on the mirror and hey presto - no more spec.

be very, very careful cleaning the mirror
the silver is on the surface and once it's gone - it's gone
in many ways the mirror is more sensitive than the sensor!

Doubt if it's on the mirror as the dust and hairs would be out of focus, unless you are using a very small aperture.

Sounds more likely it's either on the screen, or maybe it's git inside between the screen and the pentaprism. That could be more of a problem if your screen doesn't come out for changing or cleaning.

Beware, if you buy a blower or (puffer), make sure it is empty before using it, a friend of mine didn't do this and managed to blow a mass of french chalk into the camera body
Getting a hoover nozzel to fit in your camera can be tricky
