Cleaning a Coolscan

I just spent about 20 mins cleaning the mirror in my Coolscan IV by following the instructions here. It's not difficult to do. While my mirror wasn't as dirty as the one on that webpage, there was definitely some crud on it. I've not done a before and after, but now that I've scanned a couple of negs it definitely seems to have reduced the haloing and improved contrast. If you're happy cleaning delicate optics, then it's well worth the effort.
