Clarkson's alright - plays devils advocate to the PC brigade. Speaks his mind and doesn't really care if we share his views which is ok by me.

Paul Weller - Quite liked The Jam but (yawn) bit middle of the road now despite the likes of Oasis pushing a new generation his way a few years back.

Uh-oh, here comes the real "talent"...
 
Paul Weller can still knock out a fresh, decent tune but not albums full of classic tracks like in the days of the Jam.
When is isn't faffing around with adding brass / strings and sticks to only drums, guitar, bass and keyboards, most tracks seem to work well.
When went through his 'Cream' phase a few years ago I was expecting him to remain middle of the road.

I like Clarkson, says what's on his mind and fair play to him.
