Clarkson suspended by the BBC, TG taken off air.

If there's something we llamas do well, it's spit.

And there was me thinking it was develop computer games.

Ps. Free virtual pint for those who get that one :)

Sabine Schmitz or Jodie Kidd would be good. Jason Plato is another.

Jodie has been good on that classic car series. She can at least drive anything and isn't a dumb blonde that crashes into milk floats unlike Michelle Newman that used to do Top Gear in its boring fifth gear days.

They could do the HIGNFY and have a guest presenter than they could at least pick someone that fits in with the rest of them without committing themselves to one person and making a big mistake. It's one way to revitalise it without taking out the good bits. Hammond and May do at least get on as well.

I read today that Clarkson is getting his lawyers on to the BBC with regards to the comments comparing him to Saville..... this could get interesting

And by a Senior BBC employee. Pot calling kettle, come in, over !

It's a complete fiasco !

The comparison between JS and JC is absurd, heads should roll. Saville was, until his death a hugely loved celebrity. I for one always championed him and Ian Botham for their tireless efforts for charity. Compare that with Catherine Zeta Jones who would turn up at charity walks and do the last quarter of a mile where the cameras were waiting.............
Rolf Harris was another favourite of mine, when he presented Animal Hospital and shed tears, showing huge genuine empathy with people who had had to put their beloved pets to sleep.

Not sure what that says about my intuition though :(

What about Gary Glitter? :p

Forgot about him, but he disappeared off the radar didn't he. I'm not aware of anything about him since the demise of his singing career. And no, I didn't have any of his posters on my wall :P

He was sent down for 14 years only the other week. Previously jailed in Vietnam for sex tourism.

Sorry yes, I never made it clear. I meant I wasn't aware of him doing charity work or anything. While Saville chose to brazen it out, GG tried to blend into the background. Clarkson may/may not be everyones cup of tea, but the comparison to a major child abuser is astonishing.

I can sort of see what (I think) the person was trying to say - that in a post-Saville world, the BBC has to be seen to investigate even the slightest murmur of a rumour of an alleged indiscretion.

But given the graveness of Saville's crime's (compared to the alleged fracas), and the immense risk of not getting the sentiment expressed (let alone reported) correctly, the words should never have been uttered. Utter foolishness, and should be worthy of an investigation itself - but I won't be holding my breath on that one.

An investigation into the original alleged dust-up.
An investigation into a comment - albeit a daft one.
Perhaps an investigation into all the other investigations.
So where do the investigations stop.
It's ridiculous.

We need an investigation into the investigation :p :)

You mean an investigation into the investigation which investigates the previous investigations?
Sod it - lets have a public enquiry. In fact, I demand one as its public money at stake!!! That way we can waste countless £millions employing expensive faceless nobodies that are accountable to no-one and in the end prove that some poor soul made a mistake and it would and will happen again cos we are humans and we make errors! (Not that JC is a poor soul of course)

I feel better now for that....thank you

Good point and well made. I think a lot of people forget that these ridiculous demands are paid for with our money.

Dinners is right. We can't possibly have an enquiry into the enquiry into the investigation into the investigation, without first setting up a committee to establish what the scope of the enquiry into the enquiry into the investigation into the investigation should be.

The committee, of course, will not be able to reach a conclusion on the scope without carrying out its own investigations first. A special rapporteur will need to be appointed, for which other committees will need to be setup to produce a shortlist of candidates and ratify the appointment.

Clear your diaries for the next, er, 10 years?

I'm beginning to think it's going to require a QUANGO to really b****r this up completely sort this out.

Don't get me started ;)

I come under the Quango umbrella although we loophole the public sector shackles regarding keeping people £appy.

Telegraph is reporting that May and Hammond refused to film without Clarkson.

Top Gear could have stayed on air without Jeremy Clarkson - but his co-hosts reportedly refused to present the show without him.

James May and Richard Hammond were offered the chance to front the motoring show during Clarkson’s suspension, according to a BBC executive.

Discussions were held about broadcasting the last three episodes with mainly recorded segments while the two co-stars filmed the studio parts.

However the BBC insider told the Mirror that May and Hammond rejected the offer and refused to go on air without their long-time colleague.

The source said: "They didn't want to do it without Jeremy so the talks didn't get off the ground.

"There is a feeling that it is all of them or none of them."

Good man :) one of the finest indies of his time imo :)

I am baffled by the BBC/JC row.

As I understand it JC works for/is employed by a production company. In which case surely the investigation etc should be carried out by this company.

e.g. If I worked or the company that supplies envelopes to say Royal Mail and had a fracas with a colleague why would Royal Mail get involved in an internal disciplinary matter?
