Clamps for vinyl background

I have just got a vinyl abckground and the small pastic grips that I used to stop the paper background from unravelling are not strong enough.

Any tipes for the best way of stopping a heavy vinyl roll from slipping?

I use DIY clamps like this:

big enough ones work fine. I put one on the roll, and one on the crossbeam to stop it from turning.

They're the ones that worked fine on paper but don't work on the heavier vinyl roll for me.

I use a couple of G clamps

i used a couple off wooden wedges one in each end, homemade worked for me.

I hang my vinyl background from the picture rail. ( Yes I know no-one has them anymore, but we do.) I purchased some of those brass picture hangers that hook over the picture rail (still available in Wales), then put some large eyelets in the top of the vinyl background, and hung it on to the hooks.

I just bought a value pack of DIY clamps from b&q. They are holding well.
