OK so I get a nock at the door. And it was a City Link man with a big box for me. So I open the box to find a RedSnapper box :naughty:. inside.

So I placed my order Yesterday 14/04/08 at 14.40PM and got the item today 15/04/08 at 9.20AM. Is that fast or what so to Joe at RedSnapper a big  and thanks.

Anyway back to the box opening  I opened up the well packaged box. Note not 1 box but 3 that's how good the packing was

Now I do have more photos if you wont to see any more pic's

Now let me tell you what I think to the setup

OK so I'm not realy any good at this type of thing so ill just number it for you.

The bag
( 0 ) The bag is top notch padded looks good and is made to last a long long time.

Tripod Base
( 1 ) The tripod base is top notch and oozing in class
( 2) The build quality is top notch to
( 3 ) Its so light it crazy yet its still so strong its :cuckoo:
( 4 ) Its real a good size much bigger then my cheap tripod
( 5 ) Its so so easy to setup just twist pull and its up
( 6 ) The feet on it are cool
( 7 ) Its so cheap to what I have looked at in the shops

The head
( 1 ) The head looks cheap
( 2 ) The build quality is top notch
( 3 ) Its so so easy to setup and use
( 4 ) It is so strong it :cuckoo:
It can hold my camera Canon 40D with a Sigma70-200mm f2.8lens at just about any angle you can think of.

Sorry for the bad type Review but you can see I am trying to tell it how it is. As a person with out any background in Photography and new to all this stuff.
I think its money well spent and would say to anyone if you wont a nice bit of kit for not much money then this could be for you. And you get to talk to some one on the phone if you wont to.

On a side not the bag could be a bit bigger to fit this type of head

How much was it, if you don't mind me asking. Also what is it made out off?

I'd be interested in knowing how much you paid for that kit too. My tripod just will not hold my 70-200 very well at all. :(

Any update on that? I'm sorely tempted by this tripod but if you have to buy the ball head to be able to take a portrait shot then it doubles the price.

Isn't picture 3 below suitable for a portrait postition? Can't the plate be swivelled?

Yes it is A ok for portraits you just have to hae it set the right way round. Il have to get some photo's. If you have the head set one way it would move but set it the othere way and its a ok

No they are pretty much universal I think. In fact you could just screw your camera straight onto the base of this particular tripod, But then I guess you'd be stuck with straight ahead landscape and like it.

Ok some photos of the right way and wrong way

The wrong way first When I say wrong way I mean that the grip would not stay rock sold in place with my Sigma 70-200mm and Canon speedlight 580ex II flash Diffuser it would slowly start to move. I bet it would be fine with a lens not so heavy.
didyouknow019800x600.jpg

The right way when I say right way I mean this way can hold the above with out slipping
The grip facing forward
didyouknow020800x600.jpg

Grip facing backwards works just the same
didyouknow021800x600.jpg

The top of the plate moves around so you can set the head anyway you from facing down to up
