Hi everyone just wondering which course would you or have any of you taken either?

City Guilds 1/2 In Photography

AS In photography

Just finding it hard to decide if any would be beneficial.

many thanks

done guilds level 2 and a btec level 3
much of a muchness to be honest, although the btec tutor concreted my love of film.
i was going to go on to the a level course but its nearly double the amount of written work to the others i have been on, don't get me wrong, i love my research and learning but i am in full time employment and i could see it eating up my spare time.
it depends how far you have advanced already too. i would say that if your success rate is getting better and the foundations are there then avoid the guilds and do the as

Yeah man looks like your doing alright, knowledge is power but unless its relevant then its pointless. So what you glean from studying is a bonus.

One thing i found through these courses was that you get to meet like minded people, which is good.

and when you apply for a photography related job and it says "qualification in photography required" you don't get culled in the first round of selections despite the fact that the very specific job you're asking for you've been doing freelance for the last 4 years
with most jobs it's all about bureaucracy, ticking boxes etc- they won't see your website until they've hired you, so don't count on the quality of your photos to being your CV
