Saw it last week and watching it now. Hilarious, although quite surprised the bbc show something as un PC. Reminds me of mind your language for racial stereotypes.

Funny one, "what's Bradford got that Dubai hasn't?" ...... "more Moslems".

Just watched it. Reminds me of godness gracious me...

It's not 'un-PC'. Maybe you don't understand the term political correctness. Just because it got a couple of complaints doesn't mean it's hateful or insensitive, it's light-hearted in it's delivery but unfortunately, it's just not funny. Tired, re-hashed jokes with canned laughter - no ta.

:agree:

That's why I watched nearly 5 minutes of one show before I switched off.

Unlike Goodness Gracious Me - which, of course, started on Radio which made it well-written and funny to begin with.

being asian and muslim, I don't really find it offensive but the jokes and humour is just lame. Theres no wit or creativity, just one stereotype after another. I'm sure my nephews and nieces probably love it.

I thought the stereotype jokes are what makes it funny, I probably find it funny because my Asian mates have pretty much made every joke on there in the past. The joke about Somalians for instance me and my friends found it funny, no one in my family had a clue

Being Muslim, I don't find it offensive either. Just not that funny. I preferred Goodness Gracious Me :p I find Mrs Browns Bous funnier.

Tried watching it, felt myself slipping into depression, turned it off.

Really wasn't my cup of tea, bad acting, bad jokes, bad production....just bad!

Agree with what's already been said. Jokes are very predictable... I think the writers counted on the stereotyping too much instead of real humour... And the acting is awful, especially Mrs Khan.

The first episode was kind of ok.. It just got worse from there..

would rather watch it than any american "comedy"

I quite liked it. It's like a pastiche of the 70s sitcom.

Not up to Mrs Brown's boys though.

The ironic thing is Mrs Khan (Shobu Kapoor) produced solid, believable performances as Gita in Eastenders back in the 90s. The dated 1970s script is to blame. The other characters, particularly the women, only seem to exist to set up another stereotypical joke by Mr Khan. If you had to take a shot of whisky every time he referenced being a Muslim or Pakistani you'd be drunk within 90 seconds.

I've watched every episode and I love it

Really?

Rather than... Curb your Enthusiasm, Arrested Development or Bored to Death - to name but a few.

never watched them but if they are anything like friends, cheers, frazier etc then yep

The first joke off a religious/racial stereotype got a cheap laugh, when the 2nd came within the next minute and the 3rd a few more seconds after that you pretty quickly pick up the theme of every episode. Terrible excuse for a comedy.

Citizen Khan simply isn't funny. Now on the other hand, Mrs Brown's Boys is a work of true genius.

I can't stand Mrs Brown's Boys either.....actually for the same reasons as my previous post.
